Why Being My Qigong Student Requires More Than Just Interest
I used to think I wanted a lot of Qigong students. I strived to fill my classes and attract a lot of students to my programs — because, let’s be honest, who wouldn’t enjoy the buzz of seeing a crowd sign up for their offerings?
But I’ve realised that’s not what I truly want.
I want the right students—those genuinely committed to learning Qigong as an art. Not just its movements, but its philosophies, traditions, and the intricate layers that make it a lifelong journey.
I’m not here for students chasing professional development points or ticking boxes for a certificate.
I’m not interested in teaching people who think they can embody the essence of Qigong in a few weeks or months.
What I look for in Qigong students & clients
Ultimately, I don’t want students who:
lack an understanding of nuance,
dismiss the importance of attention to detail,
aren’t ready to commit to themselves or the program they’ve chosen,
can’t embrace radical self-responsibility,
want constant validation instead of honest feedback, or
shy away from constructive critique.
Honestly, there are plenty of reasons why I’m not the right Qigong teacher for someone — and that’s okay.
But when the right student finds their way to me? That’s where the magic happens. With the right kind of student, I can help transform their life—not just physically, but energetically, mentally, and spiritually.
The transformational power of the Qigong teacher - student relationship
When someone truly resonates with my Qigong Teacher Training program, I know I can help them evolve into an exceptional facilitator, ready to carry this powerful tradition forward in ways that ripple far beyond themselves.
The impact I can create by working deeply with the right students far outweighs the fleeting satisfaction of teaching a packed room. This isn’t about numbers—it’s about authenticity, alignment, and transformation.
When I work with the right students—those willing to fully engage with the depths of Qigong and its principles—the potential for transformation is profound, especially for those seeking to heal from serious diseases or manage chronic health issues.
This isn’t about quick fixes. Qigong is part of the deeply integrative tradition of Yang Sheng Fa—Life Nurturing Practice. It’s not just a set of exercises; it’s a complete system for cultivating life force energy (Qi) to restore balance and promote healing.
Healing with Qigong: A Life Nurturing Practice
Qigong, rooted in the tradition of Yang Sheng Fa (Life Nurturing Practice), isn’t about quick fixes. It’s a complete system for cultivating Qi to restore balance and promote healing.
Healing isn’t something done to you—it’s a journey you undertake for yourself. The right student understands this and embraces the practice as an active, participatory process.
Through Yang Sheng Fa, we move beyond symptom management to explore the energetic, emotional, and metaphysical roots of illness. Unresolved trauma, blocked emotions, or lifestyle imbalances often contribute to disease. These practices help students identify and release energetic blockages, paving the way for deeper healing and wholeness.
Healing is a spiralling journey that requires discipline and dedication. The right student is willing to commit to the long-term practice, knowing that lasting transformation comes through persistence and a willingness to embrace the process.
The Commitment Required for Qigong Mastery and Healing
By focusing on teaching students who align with these principles, I can offer them the depth and guidance they need to create lasting change. It’s about empowering people to access their own healing potential, giving them the tools to take ownership of their well-being and step into a healthier, more vibrant life.
When I guide the right student—someone truly open to this kind of work—the results are life-changing, not just for them but for the people and spaces they touch.
