Feast On Qigong: It’s Time To Ditch The Snacks

Earlier this month, I took time to realign my Qigong offerings with the essence of Nicole Lee Qigong—what it stands for and what I stand for.

What I realised is that I’ve been unintentionally confusing my students and prospective clients by offering… snacks. Qigong snacks.

Here’s the thing: I’m not about the snacks. I’m about the feast.

Why Qigong Snacks Aren't Enough for True Transformation

My Qi-consultant and I laughed when we uncovered this analogy during a business energy alignment session, but it couldn’t be more accurate.

I feel deeply passionate about helping people use Qigong and the principles of Yang Sheng Fa to transform their lives, and the reality is that snacks don’t achieve that. Snacks are great for sampling, for starting out, and for discovering whether Qigong resonates with you. But true transformation? That requires commitment, depth, and consistency—a feast.

There are plenty of Qigong snacks out there, and they have their place! A quick web search will present a buffet of options, and I encourage students who are just beginning to frolic in the shallows and enjoy the appetizers. I even offer two mini-courses—the fundamentals of Qigong and an introduction to Shen Gong—which I now like to think of as appetizers rather than snacks.

What is Yang Sheng Fa? The Art of Nurturing Life

But Qigong is so much more than physical movements or exercise therapy. Describing it that way would be like saying truffles are just mushrooms.

Qigong is a profound, life-nurturing practice rooted in Yang Sheng Fa—the Art of Nurturing Life.

In Daoist tradition, Yang Sheng Fa emphasizes the integration of body, mind, and spirit to cultivate vitality, longevity, and harmony with nature. To truly embrace Qigong is to approach it as a lifelong journey—a feast, not a fleeting endeavor or quick fix.

My teaching reflects this philosophy. I cannot align with my true self and offer casual, drop-in classes or one-off sessions. That’s simply not where I’m at or what I believe in.

The programs I’ve created are for those ready to immerse themselves in Qigong, commit to self-discovery, and engage deeply with the multidimensional aspects of the practice. Qigong within Yang Sheng Fa is about cultivating alignment—not just physical, but emotional, energetic, and spiritual harmony.

Why Consistency and Depth Matter

This alignment comes through consistent practice and a willingness to learn Qigong, not just mimic movements. True transformation happens when students internalize the form and philosophy, integrating it into their lives so that practice comes from within.

When you work with me in my Dao Mentorship programs, you receive personalized guidance, honest feedback, and tools to embed the practice into your daily life. This approach encourages radical self-responsibility—a cornerstone of Yang Sheng Fa—helping you cultivate the discipline and awareness needed to progress on your own unique path.

Qigong isn’t something you “do”—it’s something you live. It grows with you, continuously deepening your connection to your inner self and the natural world. My role is to walk alongside you, providing structure and support as you uncover your own Dao—the unique way of life that nurtures your health and spirit.

Qigong: A Practice You Live, Not Just Do

That being said, I’ll still offer healthy snacks on occasion! These are opportunities to explore my teaching style, experience practicing various Qigong forms, and dip your toes into the practice before deciding if you’re ready to dive deeper.

This is an invitation for those who feel called to this path. Together, we cultivate the patience, understanding, and dedication required to experience the profound benefits of Qigong as a practice and a way of life.

If you’re ready to go beyond the surface, to feast on the banquet that is Yang Sheng Fa, and to step into a practice that can transform your health, consciousness, and life, I invite you to join me.

If you’re ready to fully immerse yourself in Qigong, I invite you to explore my in-person immersions and Dao Mentorship programs. Both offerings provide the structure, guidance, and support needed to cultivate profound, lasting change in your life.
