Module 23: Eight Essences Qigong

A Timeless Practice for Health and Harmony

This Traditional Health Qigong form is known by many names —Ba Duan Jin, Eight Pieces of Brocade, Eight Section Exercises, and Eight Layers of Silk, with roots tracing back to the Song Dynasty (960–1279). Over time, various interpretations have emerged, reflecting its adaptability.

In Chinese, Jin (锦) signifies something radiant and refined—much like the flowing movements of this form, weaving together breath, intention, and vitality.
