Frequently asked questions
What’s the benefit of studying Qigong with an experienced teacher and mentor?
Receiving Qigong tuition from an experienced and accredited professional is important, because although it looks easy to copy and follow along on a video, the healing power of Qigong lies in its subtlety, points of distinction and flow. As your teacher and mentor, I can help ensure you are expressing the intricacies of the forms correctly and moving in the most beneficial way for you.
What can Qigong help with?
Qigong provides many opportunities for physical and mental wellbeing and improvement. Benefits and outcomes are very personal, and it really depends on both the regularity and suitability of the Qigong practice.
In my many years as a teacher and mentor, I’ve seen regular Qigong practice help ease anxiety, depression, physical tension and discomfort, as well as provide clarity and a deeper connection to self and others.
What equipment or special clothing do I need for Qigong?
The beauty of Qigong is that you can do it practically anywhere, in any clothing, without any equipment. I recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing made from natural fibres.
How many Qigong sessions do I need to feel the benefits?
It's more a question of how many sessions do you want. Regular and consistent Qigong practice delivers the most benefits — much like going to the gym or meditating, it's only when we make it part of our day-to-day lifestyle that we can realise the vast physical, mental and emotional health benefits. In this way, Qigong practice is ultimately lifestyle medicine for the body, mind and spirit.
Where are your workshops held?
Workshops and immersions are held in various locations, primarily in Melbourne (Vic), Sunshine Coast (Qld) and Bass Coast (Vic). The suburb and state of each offering is listed and upon registration full details of the venue will be provided to you.
How many students are in each workshop or immersion?
This varies depending on the size of the venue. Typically a minimum of 9 students is needed for in-person events to go ahead. Usually there’s no more than 18 students.
