Module 19: Five Animal Frolics Qigong

Harmonising Body and Mind through Natures Movements

Originating in the Han Dynasty, Five Animal Frolics (Wu Qin Xi) is one of the earliest forms of Medical Qigong, created by the legendary physician Hua Tuo.

This practice, inspired by the movements of five animals—tiger, deer, bear, monkey, and bird—helps cultivate balance, vitality, and longevity. Hua Tuo’s disciple, Wu Pu, who lived over 100 years practicing these movements daily, wrote The Five Animal Classic, preserving this powerful tradition for generations.

This form is both physically challenging and intense, designed to strengthen and energise the body. You will learn the form as received by Nicole Lee from Master Wang of Wang Zhi Ping Tai Chi School, Yangshou, China.
